Redpath Canada Limited has the following full time permanent position available.

Job Description:

Working directly with the Manager, Human Resources this position is responsible for managing, administering and streamlining the benefit package for the Canadian Operations to assist Redpath in attracting and retaining qualified employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide appropriate, attractive and cost effective employee group benefits
  • Administer the Redpath Retirement Plans
  • Administer hourly and staff leave cases (medical, legislated leaves, etc.)
  • Responsible for accurate and timely processing of remittances for group benefit payments and pension contributions
  • Review new and renewed contracts, as well as amendments to current contracts
  • Design employee communication material that is easily understood and available for all group benefits and retirement plans
  • Prepare and gather information for insurance purposes such as renewal census data, War Risk data, audit information for pension plans and ad hoc reports
  • Manage the Global EAP program
  • Maintain confidentiality with respect to employee and candidate related information

Education and Experience:
  • Post-secondary education and/or industry related courses
    • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist designation (GBA/PBA) or Certified Human Resources professional designation an asset
  • Five (5) years’ experience
Knowledge Required:
  • Sound knowledge of benefit plans, government plans, pension legislation and Employment Standard Act
  • Experience reviewing contracts, quotations and pension plan texts would be a definite asset
  • Working knowledge of payroll
  • Basic understanding of investment terminology
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, perform research and to work effectively with excel spreadsheets
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
