Job Description: The Corporation of the City of North Bay is currently seeking applications for the position of Fleet Supervisor. Under the direction of the Fleet Manager the successful candidate
will be responsible for organizing and directing daily operations as well as overseeing maintenance and repair of the municipal fleet.
The Supervisor will ensure that the work is organized and carried out to approved performance standards, provide guidance, expertise and assistance, and ensure that requests from the user departments are met and all pertinent information is communicated to them. The Supervisor will act as a resource to develop specifications for the procurement of new vehicles and equipment. The incumbent will update repair processes and repair equipment to stay current with new technology and identify best practices.
The successful candidate will offer a strong combination of education and knowledge possessing a Secondary School Diploma and valid Truck and Coach Technician License as recognized by the Province of Ontario and registered with the Ontario College of Trades combined with three (3) to five (5) years previous related work experience. An Industrial/Automotive Mechanic license specializing in pneumatic P.L.C. programming and hydraulics as well as an Automotive Service Technician License would be considered assets. Previous supervisory experience as well as superior oral, written and interpersonal communication skills is essential.
