We are currently looking for a Health & Wellness Coach to join our team of committed professionals. This part-time position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Chippewa location in North Bay. Under the leadership of the Supervisor of Adult Fitness, the Health & Wellness Coach provides direct one-on-one fitness assessment, program development along with exercise supervision, and facilitates group fitness classes (including class preparation and choreography). This job is also responsible for ensuring the safety of members and participants while on the fitness floor and in group fitness classes.


  • Minimum 3 months of related experience
  • Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
  • Current First Aid and CPR C
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Current and Satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector


  • Based on client consultations and the accepted best practices, design individualized fitness programs for members or groups of members
  • Respond promptly to members inquiries regarding programs and or equipment
  • Ensure that members and fitness participants are working out in a safe manner while on the fitness floor
  • Ensure that equipment is in safe working condition
  • Incorporate SAM standards into daily responsibilities
