Job Description:

POSITION:     Full Time Quality Technician

SITE:              Rahn Plastics Inc. North Bay, Ontario

HOURS:         All shifts as scheduled- Shift work


The Quality Tech Assistant will complete daily routines on the Production floor and Quality Control office including, but not limited to, current and sample product validation by visual checks, measuring, incoming product verification, quality record keeping, spot-check audits and any other tasks assigned by the Quality Manager. This person will also be responsible for continuous monitoring, inspection and validation of running products on the Plant Floor, and the release of all products to semi or finished inventory.

The assistant would also be:

  • Responsible for daily validation of product conformance through measurement of operator samples
  • Responsible for release of all products to semi or finished inventory.
  • Maintain neat and accurate Quality records as per the Quality Management System
  • Liaison with staff on Quality matters in a diplomatic manner
  • Comply with all components of ISO 9001:2008 which governs the Rahn Plastics QMS
  • Perform other required duties as assigned by Management
  • Authorized to release product to inventory
  • Authorized to hold and segregate suspect product for investigation
  • Basic First Aid required



  • Experience with the use of basic measuring and lab instruments including Vernier, Pi Tape, Micrometer, Melt Index Machine, etc. an asset
  • Ability to show attention to detail and precision data collection
  • Good knowledge and understanding of standards ASTM, CSA, etc. an asset
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent ability to prioritize
  • Excellent computer skills in various programs required
  • Able to work shift work as required
  • Conversant in ISO 9001:2015 is an asset
  • High School Diploma required
  • Some College and/or some University an asset
  • First Aid
